Hi! It's Sly!

 General Information

Slyware is my little stamp on the www; a method of providing access to the various software applications I have written, and projects that I've been involved in. I'm Simon Chudley, my nickname being Sly, hence Slyware!

 Working Sly...

  • I'm currently a Software Engineer working for Reuters in their Core Infrastructure Development department. My work involves development on their head-end financial quotes processing systems; realtime C++ development on Solaris/VMS/Windows.

  • Current work involves C++ development under Solaris using Sun Fire 4800's and Sun v40z's, and Windows C++ development using HP DL585's. Previous projects have been with VMS on HP Alpha ES45's.

  • Programming wise: C++, Java, ASM, Perl, PHP and various others in-between. The majority of my experience is in C++. I am also a great fan of Perl; Swiss Army knife of the scripting world! I like knowing how applications really work underneath, hence the ASM!

  • I have a great interest in network programming/protocols etc. I've done a fair bit of wireless LAN development, which also crosses into my interests with Amateur Radio.

  • Web development in PHP/Mysql/Perl and Java. However, I'm no artist so have no interest in website design!

  • Out-of-work development platform is Linux (Gentoo's my poison).
