 Introduction

Welcome to Slyware's web site; hosting products, papers, code and random other compsci related bits maintained by Simon Chudley.

AMV1

Featured applications include the Amateur Radio Utility v1 (AMV1), shown left.

This product was released back in 1999, and aims to provide an easy to use home logging solution for Amateur Radio operators.

Various other utilities based around this application are available, allowing further customisation. The Delphi 3 source code for this product is also now available.

Click here for further details and downloads.

The Desktop Manager application provides multiple virtual desktops, along with many other benefits.

It can discretely exist in the system tray, being completely controlled via keyboard shortcuts; alternately the desktop manager window can be used to drag windows between desktops.

It also allows for common tasks to be scripted and assigned to keyboard shortcuts; and is fully configurable.

Other site features include:

  • TMip (Transparent Mobile IP): Host mobility with no need for client side stack support.
  • XMLNetMan (XML Network Management): Automatically generate network service configurations.
  • SlyBot (Robotics/Control Software): My venture into the world of robotics and control software.

See the products page for more details, or the projects page for past and present projects. Alternately, read more about me if you wish!

Wow, what happened to 2004! Time for an update I think; been a little busy recently with work & moving house etc.

TMip news: TMip has been featured in the Linux Magazine (April 2004), see here for a PDF of the article. I'm also doing some research into TMip2; testing out some new theories etc. Watch this space!

Version 0.14a of TMip has just been released. A few bug fixes and feature enhancements. Includes ability to send HUP/USR1/USR2 signals to control both the MLR and CNs.

Details here and downloads here.
Saturday 7th June 2003 - 23:12
The next release of TMip is now available (version 0.13a). Again, loads of new features, such as ability to run multiple CN's per physical node, and the support for distributed address allocation pools.

More details on the project page. I have also written a general introduction to the TMip concept.

Also, another TMip developer (Nicholas Humfrey) has written a MLRP Perl interface to both the MLR and CNs. This means you can get fully dynamic views of your mobile network, such as the example here.

You can download the newest versions of both projects from the SourceForge project page here.

On other news, I've finished my degree! Yay!

The next developmental CVS version of TMip has now been released (version 0.11a). This has the major addition of an integrated DHCP server within the CN application, so now it really is all transparent!

See here for details on the project, and you can download the software from SourceForge TMip CVS, see the CVS link on the project page.

Or you can use the following to check it out directly (use a blank password):

cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/tmip login
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/tmip co tmipcore
